The second bout on the main card of the UFC 141: "Lesnar vs. Overeem" pay-per-view featured a light heavyweight showdown pitting the up-and-coming Swedish monster Alexander Gustafsson against longtime veteran Vladimir Matyushenko.
Gustafsson, who goes by "The Mauler," came in on the strength of retiring Matt Hamill in his last bout while Matyushenko was last seen taking Jason Brilz's head off inside of a minute. It looked like we were in for some serious fireworks.
As it turns out, we were.
That's because Gustafsson did some mauling inside the opening frame by using his timing and quickness to stop Vladdy by way of technical knockout. Look out, 205-pound division.
The fight started with both men attempting to feel each other out, neither wanting to make an early mistake. Unfortunately for Matyushenko, he was the one to do so. How it happened, though, was quite incredible.
The Belarusian came in to close the distance in a rush and Gustafsson simply threw a quick jab that landed flush and sent "The Janitor" crashing to the floor.
It wasn't long after that old Gus' mopped up with punches to pick up yet another win.
Anyone think Jon Jones' should start sweating just a little bit?
